Studentersamfunnet i Bergen is the student house in Bergen and one of Norway's most active cultural venues. Every year, more than 1,500 events are arranged, all run by about 500 volunteer students. We have three bars that are entirely volunteer-operated as well as countless groups that cover students' different interests and needs. Samfunnet is a meeting place for students across Bergen, whether it is for morning coffee or a late night out.
Bar, café, kitchen and cocktail bar
Skjenkegruppen is Kvarteret's cooks, servers and bartenders. Here you run the house's permanent bars and kitchen, become part of the largest working group in the house, and receive training along the way whether you want to learn coffee, food, beer or cocktails.
Sound, lights and production
Kraftetaten is Kvarteret's sound and lighting crew. Here you run technical production for concerts, theatre, debates and other events, and work with equipment that matches professional standards while giving room for learning and networking.
Safety, responsibility and team spirit
Vaktetaten is Kvarteret's security and steward team. Here you always work together with others, learn conflict management, first aid and fire safety, and help create safety and well-being for both volunteers and guests in the house.
